Spurs Handed Huge Xavi Simons Boost as Fresh Injury Update Reveals Potential Return Date
Tottenham Hotspur have received a major boost regarding Xavi Simons, with the attacking midfielder reportedly targeting a return to action in late December.
The North London club have been without the Dutchman since April, but there is growing hope that he could return to the pitch sooner than initially expected.
The 23-year-old suffered a devastating anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury to his right knee during Tottenham’s clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers six months ago. The setback ruled him out for the remainder of the 2026-27 season and forced him to miss the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
However, the latest reports suggest that Simons is working hard to accelerate his recovery, with a potential return before the end of the year now on the cards.
The Netherlands international joined Spurs from RB Leipzig in August 2025 and recorded five goals and six assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.
Manager Roberto De Zerbi will be eager to welcome the talented attacker back into his squad, particularly as Tottenham look to build momentum in the Premier League.
Simons has already returned to individual training on the grass and recently shared footage of his rehabilitation, offering supporters an encouraging glimpse of his progress.
Tottenham have also received a timely boost with Dejan Kulusevski returning to action this month after spending more than 500 days on the sidelines.
The Lilywhites have subsequently won their last two Premier League matches, marking the first time since August 2025 that they have secured consecutive league victories.
Spurs will be back in action on Saturday when they host struggling Crystal Palace, with another three points potentially providing further momentum for De Zerbi’s side.
Although Simons’ return is not yet confirmed, having him available again in the coming weeks would provide Tottenham with another valuable attacking option.
Spurs supporters will now be hoping the Dutchman continues to make good progress and can return to action as soon as possible.
