Liverpool Make Contact Over Felix Nmecha as Lamine Camara and Alex Scott Lead Midfield Shortlist
Liverpool have reportedly explored the possibility of signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha as they continue planning a major midfield reinforcement ahead of 2027.
According to Sky Germany, the Reds have recently had contact with the representatives of the Germany international after monitoring his performances in the Bundesliga. However, the report suggests that Nmecha is not currently among Liverpool’s leading midfield targets.
Instead, Monaco’s Lamine Camara and Bournemouth’s Alex Scott are understood to be higher on the club’s shortlist as Liverpool assess their options for strengthening the centre of the pitch.
The latest development suggests that Liverpool are examining several possibilities rather than committing to one particular target at this stage. Nmecha’s name has emerged as a potential option, but there is currently no indication of an imminent transfer bid.
Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has also reported that Liverpool are tracking Camara and Scott as they prepare to strengthen their midfield in 2027.
According to Romano, Liverpool want to bring in a midfielder capable of becoming an immediate first-team starter or developing into an important player for the future.
The club’s recruitment strategy will reportedly depend on the opportunities available, with a potential move in January or during the summer transfer window still to be determined.
For now, Nmecha remains a player to watch, but Camara and Scott appear to be the more prominent names in Liverpool’s midfield plans.
