Huge clue emerges over Liverpool’s third and fourth summer signings following Ronald Araujo announcement.

Major clue emerges on Liverpool’s third and fourth summer signings following Ronald Araujo announcement.

Liverpool Turn Attention to Attackers After Ronald Araujo Deal

Liverpool are now expected to shift their attention towards strengthening their attack after completing the signing of Ronald Araujo on a season-long loan from Barcelona.

The Reds moved quickly to bring in the Uruguay international as they looked to add more depth to their defence. Araujo is reportedly taking a pay cut to make the transfer possible, with Liverpool covering his wages and holding a €55 million option to buy him next summer.

With the defensive reinforcement completed, Andoni Iraola’s side can now concentrate on adding more attacking quality. Liverpool are already in discussions with Paris Saint-Germain over Bradley Barcola, while PSG youngster Ibrahim Mbaye is also believed to be on their radar.

Reports suggest Liverpool could be looking to bring in multiple forwards this summer rather than stopping with just one major attacking addition.

The Reds’ pursuit of Barcola remains a key storyline, but Mbaye could also be high on their shortlist as PSG reportedly consider moving the young Senegalese forward on.

Liverpool Could Also Target a Backup for Alexander Isak

Liverpool may also need to consider adding another centre-forward to provide cover for Alexander Isak.

The importance of Isak to Iraola’s system was evident from the drop-off following his substitution, highlighting the need for reliable alternatives. With the Swedish striker likely to face a demanding schedule across a potential 50-to-60-plus-game campaign, managing his minutes will be crucial.

Liverpool’s recruitment team could therefore explore the market for another central striker who can provide competition and cover for Isak.

If the Reds can complete deals for Araujo, Barcola and another attacking option, they could head into the 2026/27 season with a significantly stronger squad.
