After Pecsi: Another Liverpool goalkeeper edges closer to exit amid interest from several clubs
Liverpool academy goalkeeper Kornel Misciur is reportedly on the verge of leaving Anfield on a season-long loan for the 2026/27 campaign.
Fellow young goalkeeper Armin Pecsi has already sealed a temporary switch away from Merseyside, joining Austrian Bundesliga side TSV Hartberg on loan for the upcoming season.
Now, Misciur could be next to depart. The Polish shot-stopper, who has not travelled with Liverpool’s squad for their pre-season tour of the United States, is reportedly close to securing a temporary move.
According to Liverpool Echo journalist Ian Doyle, Misciur is “close to agreeing” a loan deal, with several non-league clubs expressing interest in signing the 19-year-old before the transfer window closes on September 1.
Although Misciur is still waiting to make his senior Liverpool debut, he was included in the club’s Champions League squad last season and was named on the bench for six matches, including both quarter-final clashes against Paris Saint-Germain.
Academy reporter Lewis Bower has praised the young goalkeeper’s ability, describing him as “very talented” and someone he rates “very highly.” However, most of Misciur’s appearances during the 2025/26 season came for Liverpool’s under-18 side rather than the under-21s.
With Freddie Woodman recently signing a new contract to remain Liverpool’s third-choice goalkeeper, opportunities for Misciur in the first team appear limited. A loan move would therefore offer the youngster a valuable chance to gain regular senior football.
Playing weekly at another club would allow Misciur to experience the demands of competitive first-team football against seasoned professionals, helping accelerate his development before returning to Anfield better prepared to challenge for a place in the senior squad.
While his next destination has yet to be confirmed, Liverpool will hope he joins a club where he can play consistently and continue his progress.
