Liverpool are reportedly becoming increasingly open to allowing Italian winger Federico Chiesa to leave Anfield during the January transfer window as his difficult situation at the club continues.
The 28-year-old has struggled to establish himself as a regular first-team player, with limited playing opportunities raising fresh questions about his long-term future under manager Andoni Iraola.
According to reports, Chiesa’s lack of involvement has become a growing concern, particularly as younger players are increasingly being trusted to make an impact in the senior squad.
The situation is becoming increasingly frustrating for Chiesa, who joined Liverpool hoping to revive his career after leaving Juventus. However, injuries, competition for attacking positions and a lack of consistent playing time have made it difficult for him to establish himself.
Liverpool are also believed to be looking towards younger players, including Lewis Koumas and Trey Nyoni, as they continue developing the squad. This could make it even harder for experienced players who are struggling to get opportunities.
January exit increasingly possible
With the January transfer window approaching, Liverpool could consider allowing Chiesa to move elsewhere if a suitable offer arrives.
A departure could give the Italian international an opportunity to secure regular football and get his career back on track. For Liverpool, it could also help create more room within the squad.
Although no transfer has been officially confirmed, Chiesa’s future at Anfield is becoming increasingly uncertain.
