Liverpool Face Major Injury Blow as Jeremie Frimpong Could Miss Six Games
Liverpool have suffered another injury setback, with right-back Jeremie Frimpong expected to miss several upcoming matches after picking up a fresh muscle injury against Brentford.
The Dutch defender was introduced as a second-half substitute during Liverpool’s 2-1 Premier League victory but was forced off just seven minutes later after experiencing a problem.
Speaking ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League encounter with Villarreal, manager Andoni Iraola admitted that Frimpong’s recovery before the November international break would be difficult.
The Liverpool boss explained that the injury occurred only a few minutes after the defender entered the game. He added that it was too early to determine exactly how long Frimpong would be unavailable.
Szoboszlai Also Facing Fitness Concerns
Liverpool are also monitoring Dominik Szoboszlai after the midfielder was forced off during the Brentford match.
The Hungarian international had only recently returned after missing two previous games with a hamstring problem. Iraola clarified that Szoboszlai had not suffered a completely new injury, but he would need more time to recover fully.
The manager praised the midfielder for his determination to make himself available despite not being completely fit.
Liverpool’s Injury Problems Continue
Frimpong’s expected absence is another concern for Liverpool, particularly with Conor Bradley also recovering from a serious knee injury.
The Dutchman could miss the Reds’ next six matches before the November international break, leaving the club with limited natural options at right-back.
Liverpool will hope Frimpong recovers as quickly as possible, while the medical team continues to monitor Szoboszlai’s condition.
With a demanding run of fixtures ahead, these injury concerns could present another major challenge for Liverpool.
Liverpool fans will be hoping for positive news as the team prepares for its upcoming matches.
