Tottenham Hotspur youngster Leon Myrtaj has officially brought his 11-year journey with the club to an end after completing a permanent move to Hungarian top-flight side Debreceni VSC.
The 18-year-old winger, who joined Spurs at the age of seven, has signed a three-year deal with the Hungarian outfit following the expiration of his contract in North London. Myrtaj, whose mother is Hungarian and father Albanian, represented Tottenham at every youth level and progressed to the club’s Under-21 side.
Known for his pace, versatility and attacking flair, the teenager recorded three assists in 15 U18 Premier League appearances this season and was also involved in training sessions with Tottenham’s senior squad.
As he begins a new chapter in Hungary, Myrtaj shared an emotional farewell message with Spurs supporters on social media:
“Thank you to everyone at Tottenham Hotspur. I’m grateful for the time I’ve spent at this club and for the support I’ve received throughout my journey. The experiences and memories I’ve made here will stay with me forever. Wishing everyone at the club all the very best for the future.”
The talented winger will now look to establish himself in European football as he embarks on the next stage of his career.
