Tottenham handed major boost as buyout clause opens door to securing their man.

Juventus are increasingly convinced that Guglielmo Vicario deserves a permanent move to Turin, despite only joining the Italian giants on loan from Tottenham Hotspur a few months ago.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper has quickly impressed the Juventus hierarchy, with reports suggesting the club are now preparing to activate the purchase option included in his loan agreement.

Vicario joined Juventus on a season-long loan during the summer after making it clear that he wanted to leave Tottenham following three years in north London.

Although he was not initially Juventus’ first-choice target, the Italian club eventually settled on the Spurs goalkeeper after exploring several experienced options, including Liverpool’s Alisson Becker.

According to Tuttosport, Vicario has now won over the Juventus management, who are increasingly keen to secure his services permanently.

The agreement between the two clubs includes an €8 million purchase option, which could rise by a further €2 million through performance-related bonuses.

Juventus are particularly encouraged by Vicario’s performances and see him as an important part of their long-term plans.

The plan is for the former Tottenham goalkeeper to become their established first-choice option while also helping mentor younger goalkeepers in the squad.

For Tottenham, a permanent transfer would bring an end to Vicario’s spell at the club and provide an opportunity to recoup some money from his departure.
