Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly in a strong position to secure the permanent signing of Joao Palhinha this summer, with the midfielder weighing up two serious options for his future.
After helping Spurs avoid relegation during his loan spell from Bayern Munich, the Portuguese international has attracted interest from both Tottenham and Sporting CP. Reports from Germany suggest talks are ongoing, and Spurs currently lead the race for his signature.
However, Tottenham are keen to renegotiate the terms of the buy option agreed with Bayern, which could rise to €30 million with add-ons. The club hopes to lower the overall fee before finalising a deal.
Palhinha could become Tottenham’s fourth signing of an ambitious summer. Following the arrival of Andy Robertson, Spurs are also pushing to complete deals for Manchester City winger Savinho and Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi as Roberto De Zerbi continues to reshape his squad ahead of the new season.
