Liverpool have no plans to trim their attacking options this summer, despite growing interest from Tottenham in Cody Gakpo.
The Netherlands international remains an important part of Andoni Iraola’s squad thanks to his ability to operate both on the left wing and through the middle.

With Mohamed Salah already gone, Liverpool are in need of additional firepower out wide, making the sale of an experienced forward to a Premier League rival an unlikely option.
Rather than reducing their attacking depth, the Reds are concentrating on signing another top-quality winger, with Bradley Barcola reportedly among their priority targets.

Liverpool determined to keep Gakpo
According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool have no intention of selling Gakpo, even though Tottenham are keen on bringing him to north London.
Spurs are looking to strengthen their attack as Roberto De Zerbi continues reshaping his squad with significant investment.
Liverpool’s stance is understandable. Gakpo offers versatility, physical presence and intelligent movement, while also providing reliable cover across multiple attacking positions.

Although his form has occasionally fluctuated, allowing him to leave before securing a replacement would leave Iraola with fewer proven options.
As a result, Liverpool’s focus remains on adding a winger capable of filling the void left by Salah rather than creating another gap by parting ways with Gakpo.
Reds unwilling to strengthen a rival
Sky Sports reports that Liverpool would only consider Gakpo’s departure after signing a suitable replacement, while his long-term contract means any potential transfer would require a substantial fee.
The same report adds that Liverpool are preparing a move for Barcola, although Paris Saint-Germain’s high asking price remains a major obstacle.
Tottenham’s interest could become more significant if they submit a huge offer, particularly given their willingness to spend heavily in the transfer market.
Even so, Liverpool are reluctant to strengthen a direct Premier League rival while increasing the pressure on their own recruitment plans.
For now, keeping Gakpo appears to be Liverpool’s preferred option, with any new signing expected to strengthen the squad rather than replace one of their key attackers.
