Liverpool Handed Major Bradley Barcola Boost as PSG Complete Another Attacking Signing

Liverpool Receive Major Bradley Barcola Boost as PSG Complete Another Attacking Signing

Liverpool’s hopes of signing Bradley Barcola may have received a significant boost following a major development at Paris Saint-Germain.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed on Friday that Liverpool remain in ‘daily’ discussions with PSG over a potential move for the 23-year-old winger. Barcola is reportedly already in agreement with the Reds on personal terms.

The main stumbling block remains the transfer fee. Liverpool are believed to be prepared to pay up to £120 million, while PSG are holding out for a figure closer to £145m.

PSG Complete Ferran Torres Signing

PSG officially announced on Saturday that they had completed the signing of Ferran Torres from Barcelona, with the Spanish international agreeing to a five-year contract.

According to The Athletic, the deal is worth around £42.7m, making Torres another major attacking addition following the arrival of Maghnes Akliouche from Monaco.

Could Torres Help Liverpool’s Barcola Pursuit?

Torres’ arrival is not directly connected to Barcola’s future, but it could influence PSG’s decision-making regarding their current attacking options.

Luis Enrique now has an extraordinary amount of attacking talent available, with several players competing for only three starting positions.

PSG’s options include Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Ousmane Dembele, Desire Doue, Barcola, Torres, Akliouche and Ibrahim Mbaye.

With competition for regular playing time becoming even stronger, keeping every attacker satisfied could prove difficult. Barcola, despite playing an important role in PSG’s Champions League campaign last season, may face greater competition for starts during the 2026/27 campaign.

Liverpool still have to convince PSG to lower their valuation if they want to complete the deal, but Torres’ arrival could be an important piece of the puzzle.

The increased competition in PSG’s attack may ultimately make the French champions more open to allowing Barcola to leave this summer.
