WHY ALEXANDER ISAK WAS SHOWN A YELLOW CARD AFTER HIS BOURNEMOUTH GOAL CELEBRATION
Alexander Isak continued his impressive start for Liverpool by scoring the opening goal against Bournemouth in their Premier League clash.
The Swedish striker found space inside the box just before the hour mark and calmly finished from close range to put Liverpool ahead.
After finding the net, Isak immediately ran towards the travelling Liverpool supporters behind the goal and joined them in passionate celebrations. The forward embraced the fans as they celebrated the important breakthrough together.
However, once the celebrations ended, the referee showed Isak a yellow card.
Players can be booked for entering or excessively celebrating with supporters in the stands because such actions can potentially cause disorder or raise safety concerns.
Isak appeared to accept the referee’s decision without much protest, with the important goal and Liverpool’s lead seemingly more important to him than the booking.
The yellow card did not take away from what was an important moment for Isak, as he helped Liverpool gain the advantage against Bournemouth.
Liverpool fans will certainly hope the striker can continue his goalscoring form and make a major impact for the Reds this season.
What do you think about Isak’s celebration?
