BRADLEY BARCOLA – 9, RIO NGUMOHA – 8: LIVERPOOL PLAYER RATINGS AFTER THRILLING LASK VICTORY
Liverpool produced an entertaining performance to defeat LASK 6-3 away from home in the Champions League, with Bradley Barcola stealing the headlines after scoring a sensational hat-trick.
The Reds started the match brilliantly, taking a commanding 3-0 lead into half-time. Ronald Araujo opened the scoring before Barcola found the net twice, giving Liverpool complete control of the contest.
Rio Ngumoha also impressed with his pace, dribbling and attacking movement, while Florian Wirtz and Lewis Koumas contributed important moments in the final third.
Liverpool continued their attacking display after the break, with Jeremie Frimpong scoring with a header before Barcola completed his hat-trick. Koumas subsequently added another goal to extend the visitors’ advantage.
However, Liverpool’s defensive performance became less convincing as the match progressed. LASK took advantage of gaps at the back to score three times, making the closing stages more competitive than Liverpool would have wanted.
Despite those defensive concerns, the Reds held on to secure an important European victory.
LIVERPOOL PLAYER RATINGS
Alisson Becker – 5/10
The Brazilian goalkeeper had a relatively quiet evening for much of the match but was unable to prevent LASK from scoring three goals. He made a useful save, although his overall performance was not particularly demanding.
Jeremie Frimpong – 8/10
Frimpong delivered an excellent attacking performance, providing dangerous deliveries and contributing two assists. He also scored with a well-directed header, although the defensive problems that emerged later in the game slightly affected his overall display.
Ronald Araujo – 7/10
Araujo gave Liverpool the breakthrough with a powerful header from a corner. He looked dependable during his time on the pitch and made a valuable contribution before being substituted in the second half.
Jeremy Jacquet – 7/10
Jacquet looked composed alongside Araujo during Liverpool’s dominant opening period. However, the team’s defensive organisation weakened after changes were made to the backline.
Kostas Tsimikas – 8/10
Tsimikas enjoyed an impressive evening, providing two assists and contributing significantly to Liverpool’s attacking play. Wearing the captain’s armband, he showed confidence going forward and helped create several dangerous opportunities.
Trey Nyoni – 8/10
The young midfielder delivered a mature performance, moving the ball forward with accurate passing and helping Liverpool control the tempo. His ability to find teammates between the opposition’s lines was particularly encouraging.
Ryan Gravenberch – 7/10
Gravenberch used his strength and ball-carrying ability to help Liverpool transition from defence into attack. He remained influential in midfield and supported the team’s attacking efforts throughout the contest.
Florian Wirtz – 7/10
Wirtz displayed his creative qualities, linking up effectively with Barcola and providing a superb pass for one of the forward’s goals. His influence was less noticeable after half-time as the game became increasingly open.
Rio Ngumoha – 8/10
Ngumoha was one of Liverpool’s most exciting performers, using his quick feet, direct running and dribbling to trouble LASK’s defence. His involvement helped create the opportunity for Barcola’s opening goal, and the youngster continued to pose a threat before being substituted.
Lewis Koumas – 7/10
Koumas worked tirelessly and played an important role in Liverpool’s attacking moves. After having earlier efforts ruled out for offside, he finally got his goal with a close-range finish. His contribution demonstrated his determination and growing confidence.
Bradley Barcola – 9/10
Barcola was Liverpool’s standout performer on the night. The French forward scored three goals, registering his first strikes for the club and delivering the kind of performance supporters had been waiting to see.
His movement, pace and clinical finishing caused constant problems for LASK. His understanding with Wirtz was particularly promising, suggesting the pair could develop into a dangerous attacking partnership.
SUBSTITUTE RATINGS
Virgil van Dijk – 3/10
Van Dijk struggled to settle into the match after coming on, as Liverpool’s defence became increasingly vulnerable. The team conceded during his time on the pitch, making it a difficult appearance for the experienced defender.
Joe Gomez – 3/10
Gomez also found it difficult to cope with LASK’s increased attacking pressure. Liverpool’s defensive structure lacked stability after his introduction, and he was unable to help the team maintain its earlier control.
Victor Munoz – 5/10
Munoz brought fresh energy and made forward runs after entering the match. However, he had limited opportunities to make a decisive contribution during his time on the pitch.
Alexis Mac Allister – No rating
Mac Allister came on late in the game, leaving him with little time to make a significant impact.
Luke Chambers – No rating
Chambers was introduced during the closing stages to help Liverpool see out the result. He had limited time to influence the contest.
FINAL VERDICT: BARCOLA LEADS LIVERPOOL’S ATTACKING SHOW
Bradley Barcola was the clear standout, earning a 9/10 rating after his outstanding hat-trick. Rio Ngumoha also deserves recognition for his impressive display, while Tsimikas, Frimpong and Nyoni made valuable contributions.
Liverpool will be delighted with their six goals and another Champions League victory. Nevertheless, conceding three times after establishing a comfortable lead will give the coaching staff defensive issues to address.
The result provides a major confidence boost for the Reds, while Barcola’s performance offers fresh hope that he can become an influential figure in Liverpool’s attack.
