BAD NEWS: XAVI SIMONS INJURY UPDATE DEALS TOTTENHAM A BLOW

Xavi Simons Injury Update: Bad News for Roberto De Zerbi and Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur have received a disappointing update regarding Xavi Simons, with reports from the Netherlands suggesting that the attacking midfielder may not return to action until February 2027.

The 23-year-old has been recovering from a serious anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury that he sustained during Tottenham’s Premier League match against Wolverhampton Wanderers on April 25, 2026. The injury brought his debut season under Roberto De Zerbi to an early end.

Simons had started to establish himself in the team before the setback, making his absence a significant concern for the Tottenham manager.

Netherlands Reports Raise Concerns

Despite encouraging signs in his recovery, reports from the Netherlands have suggested that Simons still has a considerable amount of rehabilitation ahead of him.

According to Dutch journalist Valentijn Driessen, expectations of an early return may be premature. Although Simons recently shared an Instagram story featuring a pair of football boots, which sparked excitement among supporters, it does not necessarily mean he is ready to resume competitive football.

De Zerbi Faces Another Selection Challenge

Simons’ continued absence is another setback for De Zerbi as he attempts to improve Tottenham’s performances and find greater consistency in attack.

The Dutch international’s creativity and attacking ability could be valuable to Spurs when he eventually returns. However, the club will need to remain patient and allow him sufficient time to recover fully.

Tottenham supporters will be hoping that Simons makes steady progress over the coming months and returns to action without further complications.

For now, February 2027 has been suggested as a possible return date, but his actual comeback will depend on his rehabilitation and medical progress.
