Susanna Reid was missing from Good Morning Britain today, with Ranvir Singh stepping in to replace her.
The presenter usually hosts the show between Monday and Wednesday but she was absent today after struggling with her voice. The voice problems originally began last week, but she is still struggling with her voice and thus had to miss the show.
At the top of the show today, Ranvir revealed she had stepped in for missing Susanna. Addressing the viewers tuned in at 6am, Ranvir had said: “Hello there, a very good morning from us,” as Ed added: “Lovely to be here with you Ranvir. Always lovely to be with you.”
Ranvir then addressed the fact Susanna was missing, as she still struggles with her voice. She said: “Although we must say, of course. You may have been expecting Susanna as it is a Monday morning. And I know she’s watching this morning but she’s on radio silence isn’t she? Because if you were watching last Wednesday, there was a live in her dressing room with Susanna barely able to speak.”
“It’s true, she was on the show but her voice didn’t wake up,” Ed said, with Ranvir adding: “And it’s Monday morning now, and even late last night, she was sending emails about the show, fully wanting to be here.”
They then played the clip of her from Instagram last night, where she revealed she would be missing once more. She said: “Quick update on my voice, which as you can hear is not 100 percent. I feel absolutely fine but the specialists that I saw on Friday said not to risk it until it is better. Thank you to everyone at GMB for stepping in and all of you for your brilliant tips. I have been steaming and also, doing honey and lemon and ginger and turmeric tea and drinking tons and tons of water. I will see you soon.”
