SAD NEWS: Michigan Baseball five key players has been suspended…

Five baseball players were suspended Tuesday for betting on Major League Baseball games, including one who received a lifetime ban as part of an uncovered gambling scandal.

Among the four players suspended for one year was Oakland Athletics pitcher Michael Kelly, who was one of the A’s most effective pitchers as a versatile reliever.

San Diego minor-league infielder Tucupita Marcano was banned for life after betting on MLB games last year as a member of the Pirates’ big-league team. Of 387 bets totaling more than $150,000, 231 were on MLB games — 25 of the bets were placed on Pittsburgh games, MLB said, though he didn’t play in any of them because he was on the injured list with a knee injury.
