Ex-Everton and Chelsea player in hospital following car crash
An ex-Everton and Chelsea player is in hospital following a car crash in his homeland according to reports emerging on Monday.
Samuel Eto’o was sent for further examinations over a head injury after his vehicle was hit by a bus when he drove back from a wedding in Cameroon.
The collision is said to have happened near Nkongsamba, thankfully however he insists he is fine, and no one died as a result of the crash, a miracle after seeing the latest pictures of the incident.
The driver hit two cars including Samuel Eto’o’s convoy, then the driver tried to leg it away from the scene, before getting caught and officers took the driver away.
Eto’o was taken to hospital, where his condition was confirmed to be stable however he will need carefully monitoring.
Police gave the driver a beating, though as can be seen in the clip below, Eto’o went to the police station where the driver was sitting on the ground and traumatized.
Eto’o – who was with Barcelona for five years before leaving for Inter Milan back in 2009 where he was part of Jose Mourinho’s treble-winning side – sat on the floor next to him and comforted him, then he asked the police station to drop all charges against him and release him.
