RACHEL RILEY has bid farewell to Countdown as she heads on her maternity leave.

Rachel Riley, 35, has shared an update with her fans as she prepares to take a break from Countdown. The star addressed who will be replacing her on the show as she bid farewell on her last day of filming.

Rachel is well-known for the hit series Countdown, taking over when she was just 22 from Carol Vorderman.

The star is currently pregnant with her second baby with husband Pasha Kovalev.

She shared the news earlier today that she’s gone on maternity leave from the daily show

Sharing some snaps from her final filming day, she also unveiled her replacement. Dr Anne-Marie Imafidon is a mathematics genius who previously appeared on a “Black To Front” edition of the show.

Rachel also posted earlier this week about preparing for her break from the screen.

She penned: “Last day at work today before mat leave so here’s an artist’s impression of my throat right now. Not long left!”

Following her new update, Rachel was inundated with well wishes from her followers.

Fan Kieran O’Driscoll wrote: “Aw Rachel, you will be very much missed but @aimafidon will certainly be a worthy Keeper of the Numbers till your return next year.
