Morning Britain amid tongue in cheek ‘interrupting’ spat with co-host as she take leave.

Susanna Reid taking break from Good Morning Britain amid tongue in cheek ‘interrupting’ spat with co-host

The presenter announced today that she will be taking a brief break from the ITV breakfast show – seemingly making a playful dig at her co-host, Richard Arnold.

Susanna Reid has confirmed that she’s taking a break from ITV flagship show Good Morning Britain for a few days during this morning’s instalment.

The much-loved TV host said that she’ll be wrapping up today’s show (May 24) and will head away for the half term, as fellow hosts continue to present in her absence.

And in the wake of her announcement, the presenter seemingly had a tongue in cheek spat with fellow presenter Richard Arnold over ‘interrupting’ during his segment on the show.

Following on from his segment on The Little Mermaid this morning, Richard cheekily exclaimed: “Look at you, someone’s going on half-term,” to which Susanna responded: “I can confirm I am off today, leaving it in your capable hands. No more interruptions during your segment.”

Richard burst into laughter, as he continued to provide updates on the movie starring Tom Hanks – dissecting photos on screen. Susanna wished to chip in her thoughts, but sought permission from her co-host prior.

She asked: “Can I just make a point?” with Richard replying: “Yes you can interrupt now.” To which, Susanna then went on: “Thank you, it won’t happen for another ten days.”

Susanna commonly takes time away from the flagship staple over the half term, as schoolchildren up and down the country also take hard-earned time off school. GMB will continue to air as usual, with the exception of a number of relief hosts stepping in to fill Susanna’s shoes over the course of the next ten days.

The face of the programme is expected to return come June 5.
