Pochettino reveals why winning the FA Cup would be massive for Chelsea

Mauricio Pochettino has admitted it would be great to see Chelsea win the FA Cup, and possibly qualify for Europe at the end of the ongoing campaign.

The Blues will play Leicester City in the quarter finals of the FA Cup this Sunday, and know that beating the Foxes would take them a step closer to the final.

Ahead of the FA Cup game, Pochettino was asked whether he’d be happy to see Chelsea reach the semi final stage of the tournament, or if success for him would only mean winning the trophy, after finishing as runners-up to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final last month.

He told reporters: “I don’t know because it’s strange here to judge what it means to be successful.

“You know, sometimes the expectations are so high. It depends on the mood on the day. In England, sometimes there is rain, sometimes it is sunny.

“To beat Leicester, it would be massive for us in the dressing room and on the training ground.

“To have another game at Wembley… between you and me, some players did not sleep the day before the [Carabao Cup] final.

“That will bring more experience and it will make us be better. For us, it’s a chance to reach another semi-final. It is so good for us.

“The opportunity [to qualify for] Europe through the FA Cup is massive. Leicester are doing very well and the coach is doing fantastic. It will be tough.”
