Green Bay Packers have decided to rest most of their key starters for their preseason game against the Denver Broncos. Among those inactive are key players like quarterback Jordan Love, wide receiver Christian Watson, and several defensive standouts like Jaire Alexander and Rashan Gary. This decision aligns with head coach Matt LaFleur’s approach to keep his starters fresh by focusing on joint practices instead of risking them in preseason games.
In Love’s place, Sean Clifford will start at quarterback, with Michael Pratt also expected to get some reps later in the game. This gives the coaching staff a chance to evaluate depth players and get a closer look at potential roster contributors heading into the regular season.
