Good Morning Britain star Susanna Reid has shared a rare insight into her love life as she opens up about being single. The 53-year-old was in a relationship with BBC sports journalist Dominic Cotton for 16 years before they parted ways in 2014.

The pair are parents to three sons, Sam, 22, Finn, 20, and 18-year-old Jack, and are still friends as they co-parent their boys together. Speaking about her love life in an interview with Bella magazine, the ITV star expressed: “I’m perfectly happy in my own company.”

Susanna went on to explain that she’s got many people around her to keep her busy, including two of her sons who still live with her, but she may feel differently once her boys move out.

She continued: “I talk to people all day. I have a terrific team, and I love my close knit family. When the boys leave home, I know that’s going to be challenging. My youngest son is about to finish school, so at every stage there’s going to be the last time. The last time I take him to school, the last time I pick him up from school, and that is quite an emotional feeling.

“I know lots of mums and dads feel like that. But my middle son still lives at home, and he’s at university. So they don’t seem eager to leave the nest,” the proud mum divulged. Susanna’s rare insight into her love life comes after she was recently tipped as a frontrunner to host a reboot of This Is Your Life.
