CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia men’s lacrosse head coach Lars Tiffany announced the addition of three transfers to the Cavaliers’ 2024-25 roster Thursday (July 18). Charles Balsamo (Duke), Andrew Greenspan (Notre Dame) and Johnny Hackett (Bryant) will begin training with the Cavaliers this fall.

Greenspan, a faceoff specialist, was a member of Notre Dame’s national championship team as a true freshman in 2024. In seven appearances, Greenspan finished 17-for-30 at the faceoff X. In the ACC Tournament semifinal against Virginia, Greenspan finished 6-for-8 and tallied five ground balls. A native of Scarsdale, New York, Greenspan graduated from Brunswick School, where he was the nation’s No. 35 overall prospect according to Inside Lacrosse. In addition to being named a Nike and New Balance High School All-American, Greenspan made the U.S. National Team’s U18 roster. He was also high school teammates with current UVA midfielder Will Erdmann. The duo led Brunswick to a prep national championship in 2022.
