GMB’s Susanna Reid pens message to ‘class act’ co-star who ‘sets the standard’

Susanna Reid paid tribute to daytime television ‘role model’ Lorraine Kelly after she picked up the BAFTA Special Award gong at the annual television awards

Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid has penned a gorgeous message to her ITV co-star Lorraine Kelly after the breakfast host collected a gong at the BAFTA television awards over the weekend. Lorraine’s four decades in the industry were acknowledged with the BAFTA Special Award at the annual event, which saw the 64-year-old deliver a speech on the night.

Lorraine was presented the award by Brian Cox, and her celebrity friends, including Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, as well as Strictly Come Dancing presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman were seen looking delighted for the star as they clapped and cheered the achievement. Nobody was prouder, however, than Lorraine’s ITV co-star Susanna, who took to social media after the event to pen a sweet message to Lorraine.

Sharing a clip of Lorraine’s speech on X, formerly known as Twitter, Susanna wrote: “Congratulations @reallorraine – a totally class act, who is a role model for us all in daytime television news. You set the standard Lorraine.”

Commenting on Susanna’s post, one fan wrote: “Well said. And well deserved… by a fabulous, talented and always humble journalist.” while another added: “Well deserved, Lorraine!!! I grew up watching you, and it always feels like a family friend.”
