The GMB presenter revealed she had been in self-isolation for ten days before returning to the breakfast show

Good Morning Britain presenter Charlotte Hawkins has returned to work after a battle with Covid-19.

The newsreader was welcomed back by her colleagues on Monday’s show after spending ten days in isolation.

Upon Charlotte’s return, weather presenter Laura Tobin said: “I’ve got to say Charlotte, welcome back! How are you doing? I know you’ve been off with Covid.”

Responding, Charlotte said: “It’s good to be back, thank you very much. Luckily I only had mild cold-like symptoms, so I can tell you it’s nice to be out the other side safely.”

As well as being off work, Charlotte’s isolation meant she was separated from her six-year-old daughter.

The 43-year-old shared a picture of the pair hugging after being reunited last night.

Sitting in her wood shed in a floral dress, Charlotte wrapped her arms around her child and wrote: “So I finally get to hug this one after being in isolation for 10 days with Covid… I missed it SO much!!

“I’m feeling extremely lucky I only had cold-like symptoms. Thankfully I kept testing even though I had none of the usual covid symptoms, so caught it early & none of my family got ill.

“Looking forward to being back with @ClassicFM tonight 7-9pm plus @gmb tomorrow from 6am. Can’t wait to be back!!! Sending love to all those isolating with Covid right now.”

Charlotte also spoke to Susanna Reid and Dr Hilary about her symptoms.

She said: “I isolated for 10 days, in fact for over 10 days because I just started to feel unwell and kept doing tests, because I just thought, something’s not right here.

“I knew Dr Hilary had been talking about the mega cold going round, so I thought maybe it’s that, but those [tests] came back positive so I had to isolate.

“The hardest thing was, I mean I was lucky because I got off lightly, I just had cold-like symptoms, but having to isolate away from my six-year-old, not being able to hug her.

“I just wanted to make sure that I kept her safe and I didn’t want to pass it on to my husband either, and luckily they were all OK.”
