The 2024 NFL Draft will present another opportunity for teams to continue adding talent on offense and for franchises that need a quality starter along the interior of the offensive line, Georgia’s Sedrick Van Pran could make a lot of sense.
A three-year starter at center for the Bulldogs, Van Pran enters the NFL Draft in hopes of stabilizing the center position for a franchise for years to come. Starting 44 games from 2021-23, experience won’t be an issue for the 22-year old New Orleans native. He should expect to hear his name called in either round two or three and compete for a starting spot very quickly.

– Is willing to play a tough, hard-nosed brand of football that teams will covet at the next level.
– Knows where to place his hands in pass protection, delivering a strong first punch.
– Can get to the second level and take on linebackers, imposing his will.
– Powerful at the point of attack.
– Athleticism and instincts pop up on film as a player who wins with both traits.
– Needs to play with better body control.
– Teams may question his arm length and wonder if he is a better fit at guard.
– Will need to shore up some of his pass pro technique and become more consistent.
– Plays with an overly aggressive mindset that leads to him overpursuing second level defenders.
Final Thoughts:
Van Pran’s time at Georgia saw him get better each season but there is still some room for improvement as he transitions to the NFL. The film is clear: he’s a player who will find work as a starter quickly and should settle into his role throughout his rookie season.
Watching Van Pran’s tape, he does flash some potential of being an old-school center with a rugged mentality for playing the game, something that will translate over very well to the next level. He may not be the top center prospect on the board but he does have enough potential to be a guy who will hear his name called on day two.
