Everton new stadium: Special guests confirmed as more Goodison Park farewell plans revealed

Thomas Gravesen, Lee Carsley and Daniel Amokachi are returning to Everton for an event to celebrate Goodison Park’s final season

Everton fan favourites Thomas Gravesen, Lee Carsley and Daniel Amokachi have been confirmed to appear at the first in a series of star-studded events that will celebrate Goodison Park in the ground’s historic final season.

Gwladys Street Presents: Cult Heroes will take place at the stadium on Wednesday August 21, with the trio set to join members of Sean Dyche’s first-team squad and special-guest host Leon Osman, who is currently joint 10th on Everton’s all-time appearance list alongside Dixie Dean with 433 games. The event will see a giant stage erected on the Goodison turf and fans pack the Howard Kendall Gwladys Street End to enjoy never-heard-before stories from the club’s past and reflect on all that has made the Grand Old Lady great.More stellar names – including which of the present-day players will be involved – will be revealed in the coming weeks as the full line-up for Gwladys Street Presents: Cult Heroes is confirmed. Osman said: “I honestly can’t wait for it.

“I’m really excited about the evening and being back at Goodison Park in front of a packed Gwladys Street. My old teammates Tommy Gravesen and Lee Carsley are no doubt going to be brilliant, and I can’t wait to get into some of their best stories.

“And Amo! I remember Daniel Amokachi from my time as a young player at the club and he’s someone who had a huge impact.

“I think everyone recalls him for the charisma he showed on and off the pitch and I can’t wait to interview him on stage. I’m lucky to know some of the other guests who are signed up and Evertonians definitely won’t be disappointed.”

Tickets for the event – and a similar Everton Giants edition of the series on Wednesday October 16 – are on sale now, with Season Ticket, Hospitality and Official Members having a two-day priority window to secure their seat ahead of general sale commencing at 10am on Friday (June 28).
