Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil revealed he suffered a stroke the day after Christmas that led to the postponement of the band’s Las Vegas residency, which starts tonight. “I had to learn to walk again, and that was tough,” Neil told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “The doctors said they didn’t think I’d be able to go back on stage again. I go, ‘No, no, I’m gonna do it. Watch and see.’” Indeed, Neil is scheduled to do it tonight, when Motley Crue play their first show of 10 shows at Dolby Live at Park MGM.

I apologize to Guns N’ Roses for all I did—for the choices I made, for the silence I kept, and for the times when I walked away instead of fighting harder. Sometimes in life, we don’t realize the weight of our actions until years later, when the echoes of the past are louder than the present. I was young, stubborn, and searching for peace in the middle of chaos. The band was everything to me, but I was struggling to keep myself together while trying to hold the music together too. Maybe I didn’t always explain myself, maybe I didn’t always show my heart the way I should have—but every move I made was out of love for what we created. Still, I know it hurt people I cared about, and for that, I apologize. To Axl, Slash, Duff, Steven, and everyone who shared that stage with me—I hope you know I never meant to let you down. I wasn’t perfect; I stumbled, I fell, and sometimes I chose escape instead of confrontation. Looking back now, I see how those choices might have felt like abandonment, even when my soul was screaming for peace. And to the fans who kept the fire alive all these years—I owe you the same apology. You deserved more than silence, more than a disappearing act, more than watching a piece of the dream fade away. I never stopped loving the music, and I never stopped being grateful for the love you gave in return. So yes, I apologize for all I did. I can’t rewrite the past, but I can own it.
