Slipknot’s Jim Root Claims He Has Threatened to Release Look Outside Your Window. 

It’s been an incredibly long wait  roughly a decade  and it’s starting to feel like Slipknot’s ‘Look Outside Your Window’ may never be released. We know the album is finished, and all that’s left is for the band to drop it, but they still haven’t. This delay has apparently led some band members to (at least in jest) threaten to take matters into their own hands.

In a recent interview with Metal Hammer, Slipknot guitarist Jim Root was asked about the progress of the long-awaited album release. While he acknowledged that M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan was probably tinkering with the mix to perfect it, which might be causing the delay, Root also joked that he had warned Clown that the album could unexpectedly appear on his personal YouTube page.

 

For those unfamiliar, ‘Look Outside Your Window’ was recorded during the 2008 sessions for All Hope Is Gone, but it’s more of a Slipknot side project. The album features Clown, along with other band members like Corey Taylor, Jim Root, and DJ Sid Wilson. It’s been described as having a Radiohead-like sound, which, considering the people involved, could either be incredibly intriguing or a complete disaster. However, we haven’t heard it yet, so it’s hard to say.

 

Originally, the album was slated for release on Christmas Day 2019, but that obviously never happened. Over the years, the band has hinted that its release is near, but fans have been left in suspense, still waiting for the record to drop.

 

Given the amount of time that has passed since its recording, Root told Metal Hammer that he sometimes wonders if Clown has started to “lose focus on it.”
