Rachel revealed that she had to give birth in her bathroom as little Maven ‘came so fast we didn’t get to hospital’

Rachel Riley has revealed that her baby was born so quickly she didn’t make it to the hospital – having to settle for her bathroom.

The Countdown host, 33, announced she had given birth to baby girl Maven on Twitter earlier today.

It’s her first child with husband and former Strictly Come Dancing pro Pasha Kovalev.

Rachel tweeted her “newborn bliss” in a series of messages, revealing that she, Pasha, their doula and midwives had hunkered down in the bathroom once they realised they wouldn’t make it to the hospital in time.

She wrote: “2 weeks after we were expecting this little one finally made an appearance!

“Miss Maven (one who understands) Aria (lioness) Riley Kovaleva arrived on Sunday morning weighing in at 7lbs 4.”

As second tweet read: “After keeping us waiting she came so fast we didn’t get to hospital & was born in our bathroom with our amazing doula & wonderful St Mary’s midwives rushing over to be with us just in time!

“She’s absolutely perfect & Pasha and I are in newborn bliss. Couldn’t be more in love.
