Butler native and Savannah Bananas bat trickster Alex “Ziggy” Ziegler was overcome with emotion as he stepped onto the field at PNC Park on Friday. For those unfamiliar, the Savannah Bananas are an exhibition baseball team famous for Banana Ball — a fast-paced, entertainment-first spin on America’s pastime. Not every masterpiece is meant for the stage. Some songs are born in the studio, layered and sculpted until they feel larger than life too massive to ever truly escape the four walls where they were created.
