Excellent outfielders have a long history with the Los Angeles Angels. An impressive group of outfielders for the team included Mike Trout, Tim Salmon, Darin Erstad, and Vladimir Guerrero, to mention a few.
Garret Anderson, a left fielder who I believe is one of the more underappreciated players in our franchise’s history, is another one of these exceptional outfielders. He’s not just the greatest Angel to wear number 16, but among the best players in general.
On August 21, 2007, Anderson displayed his offensive brilliance in a memorable game.
The Angels had a fantastic regular season in 2007. They won the AL West with a record of 94-68. It is unnecessary for us to talk about that postseason. Their success during the regular season was greatly aided by Anderson.
The outfielder amassed 80 RBI and hit.297,.336, and.492 with 16 home runs. Even though it wasn’t his best season with the Halos, he continued to be a rock star at the dish.
One game, on August 21, in Anaheim against the New York Yankees, stood out as the highlight of Anderson’s 2007 campaign. The Angels won the first game of this high-profile series 7–6. It was a highly entertaining series. The series’ most notable game was the second one.
