Auburn football rang in the New Year with a the Music City Bowl loss on Dec. 30, but its mind had already been on the 2024 offseason for more than a month.
The transfer portal opened for a month-long window on Dec. 4, closing Jan. 3, but Auburn started seeing attrition as early as a week prior to its opening.
That was by no means shocking. Just look at last offseason.
After hiring Hugh Freeze in late November 2022, the Tigers saw 20 players leave the program via the portal. Another 20 joined the program by way of it.
