Eli Junior Kroupi has reportedly made Tottenham Hotspur his preferred destination ahead of Paris Saint-Germain.
According to TEAMtalk, the Bournemouth forward is attracted by the prospect of regular first-team football at Spurs, believing he would have a better opportunity to establish himself under Roberto De Zerbi than at PSG, where competition for places is far more intense.
With Kroupi favouring a move to north London, PSG are said to have turned their attention to Barcelona winger Ferran Torres. Reports suggest personal terms have already been agreed, while discussions between the clubs are continuing.
That development has boosted Tottenham’s confidence of completing a deal for Kroupi, who is regarded as one of De Zerbi’s key attacking targets as the Italian continues his major squad rebuild.
Spurs have already invested more than £230 million during the summer transfer window, bringing in six new signings while smashing their transfer record on two occasions. The arrival of £100 million midfielder Sandro Tonali headlines the club’s business, following the additions of £85 million Mateus Fernandes, £52 million Jan Paul van Hecke, and experienced free agents Martin Dubravka, Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson.
Despite their heavy spending, Tottenham remain active in the market and are expected to prioritise the signing of a striker and a left-sided attacker before the new season.
Standard Sport reports that Manchester City’s Savinho has re-emerged as a target after last year’s unsuccessful pursuit, while Kroupi and AC Milan winger Rafael Leao continue to be strongly linked with moves to Spurs. Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo is also believed to be on the club’s radar, although Standard Sport adds that Tottenham are no longer expected to pursue a move for James Trafford following Antonin Kinsky’s contract extension.
