The more that is explained, the more sense it seems that the 2025 quarterback committed to the Bulldogs last week.
We’re not going to hide our tale from you, Ryan Montgomery.
Montgomery had always known where he wanted to attend college. Between his freshman and sophomore years, Montgomery made his first trip to Georgia. Though he had never visited Athens, he had grown close to Todd Monken, the then-OC. Even though the Bulldogs weren’t aware of it at the time, Montgomery recalls departing that trip two years ago with the conviction that Georgia was the greatest fit for him. Yes, he did.
These Demon Deacons simply lack the ability to give up. Wake Forest trailed 5-1, 7-4, and 8-7 going into the bottom of the eighth inning, but closer Cole Roland entered and let up a leadoff home run.
Nevertheless, Roland did not back down and retired the next three Seminoles in order, allowing Wake Forest to end the inning on a walk. Before Adam Tellier’s (kind of) heroics, Cameron Gill took four straight balls out of the zone for walks. Marek Houston then converted a full count for a base on balls.
The matchup between two elite big men, Zach Edey of Purdue and Donovan Clingan of UConn, in the national championship game completed an NCAA Tournament full of NBA quality. In all of the postseason action, future pros like Terrence Shannon Jr. and Dalton Knecht lit up the scoreboard with their overwhelming scoring abilities. March Madness pits the best against the best. Throughout the season, Rob Dillingham and Reed Sheppard of Kentucky were also quite good, albeit their tournament run was not very long.
While not every college basketball star has what it takes to succeed at the highest level, many of the top players from the 2023–24 campaign are expected to be selected in the first round of the NBA Draft and pursue professional careers. Even though many people believe that this year’s draft is among the worst in recent memory, there is still an abundance of quality.
Following the NCAA Tournament, CBS Sports’ Kyle Boone released his most recent NBA mock draft. Several standouts from March Madness were among the players that rose to the top of the list.
