Kate Garraway hits back after interrupting GMB co-host as he fumes ‘you don’t care about me’

Kate Garraway was scolded by her Good Morning Britain co-host Ed Balls on Monday as he accused her of ‘not caring’ about what he had to say

Ed Balls wasn’t too happy about his Good Morning Britain co-host Kate Garraway interrupting him on Monday as he hit out at her for “not caring” about his opinion on a particular debate.

Kate and Ed were discussing vegetarian substitutes with Ranvir Singh when the former politician admitted he had an “issue” with “veggie burgers”.

Ed explained: “I think if you’re vegetarian you’ve got to be proud. I like vegetarian food. I was at a wedding two weeks when they had a brilliant aubergine main course.”

Interrupting, Kate said: “I’m not a fan of aubergine, a brilliant aubergine main course does not exist,” before realising Ed hadn’t finished: “Sorry I am listening, do carry on.”

“I just don’t think a burger can be a burger without meat, a bacon sandwich has got to have bacon in it. I think you’ve got to be proud to be vegetarian, ditch the veggie burgers.” Ranvir questioned whether Ed would be more comfortable with the term “vegetable patty” but Kate hit back: “He’s not happy with it.”

As Kate moved the debate on, Ed remarked: “You so don’t care! You don’t care about [what I’m saying].” But, Kate hit back: “I do care. I care about everything you say. I quite like veggie burgers and I do eat meat.”

Good Morning Britain viewers were divided over the debate as one tweeted: “I’ve never understood why vegetarians want a vegetable patty to taste like a meat patty?” Another added: “I have absolutely no problem with people not wanting to eat meat, thats their choice ro make. The one thing I will never understand about vegetarians and vegans, is the need for their food to look, smell and taste like meat.”
