ITV Good Morning Britain’s Susanna Reid’s weight loss secret after ‘feeling heavy’

Good Morning Britain host and journalist Susanna Reid has slimmed down in recent years and says that one lifestyle change has had a huge impact on her health

Good Morning Britain’s very own Susanna Reid is looking absolutely stunning these days, and her legion of devoted followers can’t help but gush over her “gorgeous” appearance every time she graces their Instagram feeds with a breakfast show selfie.

The esteemed journalist and telly favourite has managed to shed over 1.5 stone in the past few years, and she attributes her svelte figure and radiant complexion to one straightforward change in her daily routine that’s made a world of difference.

At 53, Susanna is an avid runner and continues to enjoy dance workouts, a passion ignited during her dazzling stint on Strictly Come Dancing. However, she insists that ditching alcohol has been the game-changer for her wellbeing.

In a candid chat with Woman magazine about her decision to quit drinking, she confessed: “I stopped enjoying it. I prefer life alcohol-free, it’s tiring and the hangxiety got to me. I don’t feel like I can plough on after pints of Guinness the night before.”

The leading lady of ITV’s morning news has also revealed that the early starts for the job made hangovers unbearable, noting that even weekend indulgences seemed to linger until Monday morning, reports OK!

Her revamped approach to health also involves cutting back on snacking, which had become more frequent due to her irregular work schedule, including waking up at 3.45am.

She shared that Eamonn Holmes, a former colleague, once said working on breakfast TV was like having “six breakfasts a day” due to the long hours, something she resonated with. She used her summer break last year as an opportunity to overhaul her eating habits.

Now, instead of reaching for “half a packet of Rich Teas” in the afternoon, she opts for toasted rye bread topped with a poached egg and avocado.
