Sharon Stone is still struggling to come to terms with the sudden deaths of her beloved brother, Patrick, and his young son, River.
The actress spoke candidly about her grief to the Daily Mail, telling the outlet that losing her younger brother and infant nephew in the span of 18 months has really taken its toll.
Patrick Stone, 57, died in February after suffering a heart attack, just 18 months after his 11-month-old son River passed away from organ failure.
“I’m just trying to take each day as it comes,” the Basic Instinct star said. “I just have to try to understand.”
In the interview, the 64-year-old explained that although she has dealt with death and heartbreak in her long-running role as an AIDS ambassador, it hadn’t prepared her for the family tragedy she experienced.
“I’ve worked with death a lot but the impact is just devastating,” she said. “I’m just trying to take each day as it comes.”
Patrick’s death was confirmed to TMZ back in February by his widow, Tasha – the mother of his two other children, Hunter and Kaylee.
“My heart feels like it’s been ripped out of my chest. Patrick went to be with our sweet River,” she said, as per the outlet. “I don’t know what else to say; he was my world.
“I’m not sure what life is supposed to look like without my husband by my side and quite honestly I don’t want to, but I will of course … My wish through all of this is that now at least River has his daddy with him and I hope the two of you are having the best time.”
A heartbroken Stone also addressed her brother’s passing in a short Instagram video.
