Ben Godfrey agrees personal terms with Atalanta to leave Everton

Everton defender Ben Godfrey could leave Goodison Park by the end of this week.

The Toffees have already sold Lewis Dobbin to Aston Villa and Godfrey could become the second player to leave the club this month.

Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth reported on 27 June that Atalanta are close to signing the 26-year-old defender, and talks are at an advanced stage.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has shared an update on Godfrey.

Romano claims on X that the former Norwich City defender has agreed personal terms with Atalanta, and he could seal his exit within the next 72 hours, that is, within the end of this week.

Atalanta have sent in a new proposal for a package deal worth around £8.47 million, and talks are advancing to finalize it.

Romano wrote: “Atalanta are closing in on deal to sign Ben Godfrey from Everton, it can be sealed by the end of the week.

“New proposal in excess of €10m package and talks advancing to get it done. Personal terms agreed, Godfrey’s keen on move to Serie A.”
